It might work for you if....

If you are looking for an app that simply serves as a database for food information, than this app does a decent job. What you gain in the shear massive size of the database you give up in the completeness of the data... quantity before quality I believe was the goal here.

If however you are looking for an app to track and plan your diet with then I would not recommend this app at all. There is no feature to allow for you to catalogue your daily intake or plan a meal for certain levels of carbs or protein.

Overall, I would not recommend this app to a friend. The price is very attractive but in the end you get what you pay for.
