Nutrition Menu - Calorie Tracker App Reviews

Useful basic reference

This application is a useful reference point for common and brand name items. Searching for a food item is quick and couldnt be simpler. Things missing that I wish was there: - ability to quickly calculate the nutrients for a specified portion size (change from 100g to 225g and see what happens) - ability to add personalized food items The database is fairly extensive so you should find most of your food. For the few items missing, I can only hope this application regularly sync up to a server to update its content.

Found out how to use it

I could not find instructions on the use of this app,so thinking it did not work my report was negitive, but with trial and error I found after you select a site you have to use the search input to get results, have not used it enough ,but I think it will be a very useful app.

No data

I downloaded this twice but never got any data. there was no help button and all of the nutritional data was missing. I contacted "Shroomies" but they did not reply. I contacted itunes and got most of my money back. Kind of a bummer.

Limited Usefulness

I thought this would be the same as the iphone app, meaning it would have the ability to track daily food scores. It isnt though, its just a database of nutritional information. Theres no journal feature, like the iphone app has. I dont recommend it. I do recommend the iphone version however.

Left side feels incomplete

Navigating restaurants is difficult. You should have the following features: * Text only view of restaurants * Resize Icons, to show more on a page. Id prefer mine to be much smaller. * Searchable restaurants (filter left side with a text box at the top) Other than that, the information is very nice.

Looks Good. Lots of Resturants

A lot of choices to help keep my calories on track. Keep adding to the data base with supermarket foods.. Thanks.

Good Idea, but needs more

This app is a good idea but for heath nuts that like to count calories like me eat more protien shakes, pills and supplements. This app has a couple of them but not all of the brands. The search isnt very accurate. The long run is that it needs to support more heathly food souces and less fast food. Honestly who counts caloires that eats fast food all day.

Much faster than the Restraunt

Lightning fast compared to looking up on restraunt websites. Has every restraunt I can think of but Smash Burger. Why is wing street and Pizza Hut seperate? Would be nice if it had searchable food where you could pick a restruant and search for things under/over so many calories, fat, sodium, etc. It would also be good if you could have a way to just show your favorite restraunts and not show the 80% Ive never heard of.

Disappointed

This would be a useful app if they had all nutritional information complete. Most of the restaurants have missing nutrient info like protein, sugar, etc. Hope this is corrected with the next release.

It might work for you if....

If you are looking for an app that simply serves as a database for food information, than this app does a decent job. What you gain in the shear massive size of the database you give up in the completeness of the data... quantity before quality I believe was the goal here. If however you are looking for an app to track and plan your diet with then I would not recommend this app at all. There is no feature to allow for you to catalogue your daily intake or plan a meal for certain levels of carbs or protein. Overall, I would not recommend this app to a friend. The price is very attractive but in the end you get what you pay for.

Dont waste your money! Depressing app!

This app is for people who dont like to eat. I thought based on the description that this app would allow me to plan meals based on various food information. It seems to just state the obvious "stats" on restaurants. How was this award winning?? I am highly disappointed in my first MAC APP store purchase. The screen shots and description was misleading and the first line offers this great discount to lure you in, which is not really a deal. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to see the details and I have to guess at the headers on each column. Is there no way to expand them? Really regret this purchase. This app has no style or substance....

COMPLETE RIP OFF...DON

THIS IS HORRIBLE! IT DOESNT HAVE ALL THE FOODS A FAST FOOD CHAIN HAS ON THEIR MENU... WTH. I CAN DO BETTER WITH GOGGLE RATHER THAN WASTE $ ON THIS PIECE OF CRAP. THE MAKER OF THIS APPLICATION SHOULD BE SERIOUSLY ASHAMED TO PUT SUCH A CRAPPY 1/2 MADE APP. ON THIS SITE FOR SALE... MORE SO, APPLE SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO LET THIS BE ON THEIR SITE.

disappointed

I only found 5 restaurants out of so man who had info. Will this be updates. None of the places I go even have info on the site. I am very disappointed. McDonalds, burgerking, 7 Eleven, on and on have NO info at all

Helpful!

Very helpful for people who want to check calories before going out to eat dinner. Helps you keep on your diet! Almost all resturaunts in my surrounding area are listed and someone stated below that McDonalds wasnt listed, but it is... You just have to click through the arrows.

Add Daily Intake Counter

Nice being able to view nutritional choices from so many sources. Would be nice and helpful if the next revision had a way to track daily totals of calories, fat, sugar, etc. For those dieting, this would be a big help. Otherwise, another app is needed. THX

Not quite there yet

The app is pretty good, but I found a lot of the info missing. For Example, the IHOP nutrition info is only displayed for 4 items. Other areas show half the info for a specific characteristic (i.e it will show calories but nothing for the protien, fat, fiber, etc. Those fields are very important to people on Weight Watchers to make their points calculations. I would say move on and wait for a more complete version of this app.

4 kilo

Ive lost 4 kilos in just one week. It worths attention!

calorie tracker

This is a must if you are trying to count calories and like to eat out.

Need to Integrate with iOS version

The version of Nutrition Menu for the iPhone / iPad is terrific. The Mac version needs to step it up. Need to be able to calculate "food scores" (where you can program in the WeightWatchers formula for food points), and need to be able track weight gain/loss. To truly make this app shine, once you add the functionality of the iOS version, you need to synch the iOS version with this Mac version - - to be able to enter your on-going diary of food and weight on one device, and have it appear on the other device - - perhaps with a wi-fi synching.

I wish it was more like the iPhone app

When I purchased this I thought that it would be more like the iPhone app. Having a list of restraunts is a good idea but I really wish that I could do all the same things that I can do with this app on my phone. It would be great if I could track calories, fat, protein, carbs, and water intake. It would also be nice if this app allowed you to put in exercise, as well as enter custom foods like the iPhone app does! Im kinda upset that I wasted money on this. Hopefully updates to this app in the future will bring back the things that I love about the iPhone app. Another good feature for this app would be to allow you to sync it with your iPhone/iPad. That way you only have to enter info once. However, thats kinda a moot point right now since you cant track nutrition on this app yet! Im crossing my fingers that the creators of this app will soon add the features that I love about the iPhone app.
